Arqaam Capital announces the appointment of Akhilesh Baveja

Arqaam Capital, the specialist emerging markets investment bank, today announced the appointment of Akhilesh Baveja as Lead Portfolio Manager in its Public Securities Asset Management Division, with responsibility for all equity strategies including the flagship Arqaam MENA Value Fund, which has had net returns of over 134% in the last five years.

Akhilesh Baveja is widely regarded as one of the leading Fund Managers in the MENA equity space. The fund most recently managed by him was recognized as best fund in various categories for three consecutive years. Akhilesh was also rated as the top non- US fund manager in 2016 by the funds data and research portal citywire.com. He has more than 17 years of experience managing Emerging Market Equities, of which the last 12 years has been covering the MENA region. Most recently he was the lead portfolio manager of the Magna MENA Fund at Charlemagne Capital in London. Prior to that he worked with Société Générale Asset Management and GLG partners in London and in the region.
